Day 7 recording my participation in the 2017 South Downs Way Annual Walk has few photos but gets an entry all to itself! That's because although it's one I might like to forget, it's the one that is most likely to linger in the memory. It rained from the off - rain of the almost horizontal variety because this was Storm Hector. OK, we were at the southern edge of the country so it could have been worse, but against forecasts it rained for over three hours and it seems that many (me included) got soaked through because it was so unexpected. The first walkers got to the Newmarket Inn about 4 hours after the start, a wet and bedraggled bunch!
